The role of the Chair of Governors is both strategic and supportive, helping to ensure the school delivers high quality education while maintaining strong governance and accountability. The Chair of Governors plays a crucial and multifaceted role in providing leadership and strategic direction to the governing body and working in close partnership with the Headteacher to ensure the school's success.
The key responsibilities:
- Strategic Direction: The Chair leads the Governing Body in setting the school's vision, ethos and strategic objectives, ensuring the school's long-term sustainability and effectiveness.
- Board Effectiveness:The Chair fosters teamwork and collaboration among governors, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to make informed decisions and contribute actively.
- Financial Oversight: The Chair, on behalf of the Governing Body, oversees the school's financial performance and ensures the effective use of resources and that our provision offers good value for money
- Compliance: The Chair ensures the school complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including those related to safeguarding and child protection.
