About your team: At Centrica Energy Storage +, our mission is to store it. Our onshore and offshore teams are united in their goal, to boost the UK's energy security and drive down bills for customers. Rough, our North Sea storage facility, currently provides half of the UK's gas storage - enough to heat 2.4 million homes over winter. But we're not stopping there. We've got our sights set on transforming it into the world's largest hydrogen storage facility and creating a Net Zero connected energy hub in the Humber.The Offshore Operations Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and site for safe and efficient operations. Electrical maintenance responsible for repairing, maintaining and installing electrical systems and equipment in a plant environment and/or knows the responsibilities of plant operator and assumes those duties during their absence. Assists plant operators and instrument technicians as needed. Optimises plant efficiencies / productionLocation - Offshore, Hull Accountabilities Reports directly to the Operations Supervisor Monitor the DCS & F&G/ESD control systems, ensuring the plant is operated in a safe and efficient manner complying with company procedures Responding to F&G/ESD alarms, provide the first response to any platform status changes or emergencies. Monitors/controls hydrocarbon flows and plant conditions, reports malfunctions and makes recommendations on/carries out necessary adjustments. Prepares plant/equipment for maintenance work, undertakes re-commissioning/re-start activities. Supports Supervisor within the PTW process to design, verify, and apply isolations. Utilise operations experience to add value to work planning process, assist with permit verification walks when required. Deputise for Supervisor as PTW Issuing Authority when required. Ensures field and plant flows are maintained to platform requirements and specifications. Controls and Monitors plant operations, identifies abnormal situations and takes appropriate actions. Carries out site checks and gas checks prior to commencing work. Assists in the shutdown and start-up of plant and equipment. Safely recover plant from shutdown situations to minimise production losses Carries out process system sampling, plant inspections, isolations, gas tests, chemical injections, etc. Ensures all production reporting requirements are carried out. Completes detailed written and verbal shift handovers using appropriate logs and procedures. Contributes to safety initiatives and role models company safety culture. Competencies Good knowledge of Microsoft office applications Good self / team leadership and analytical skills Good problem-solving skills and an ability to influence at all levels Proven communication skills Contributes to safety initiatives and role models company safety culture.
