CE&I Electrical Systems Design Lead

Overview

Drive innovation in nuclear CE&I systems design - lead projects that shape the future of energy infrastructure. Our Client requires a CE&I Electrical Systems Design Lead on a contract basis in Warrington (Hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Lead CE&I electrical systems design for major infrastructure projects, including cooling tower and local engineering initiatives.
• Oversee design development from concept through detailed design, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance across all aspects of CE&I engineering.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to achieve integrated design outcomes.
• Take ownership of design delivery and ensure alignment with project objectives and milestones.
• Work as part of an integrated design team to produce high-quality engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and review key project documents, including project requirements, basis of design, quality plans, design justification reports, and CE&I deliverables.
• Independently determine and define project requirements; review and check design documentation prepared by senior designers.
• Estimate hours and schedule for scope changes or additional works.
• Support and participate in design reviews, ensuring design integrity and compliance.
• Produce reports and documentation compliant with CDM regulations.
• Interface with multidisciplinary project teams throughout all project phases.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing design delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of machinery safety and UKCA marking.
• Demonstrated experience in process instrumentation design.
• Skilled in electrical power and services design at LV level.
• Familiarity with CE&I design processes, deliverables, and documentation standards.
• Experience working within established management systems.
• Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience with programmable electronic systems.
• Knowledge of radiometric instrumentation.
• Collaborative and inclusive working style; ability to lead high-impact projects within the nuclear and energy sector.
