• 30 Hours - Early - 06:30 - 12:30, Middle - 09:00 - 15:00, Late - 15:00 - 21:00


• 35 Hours - Early - 06:30 - 14:00, Middle - 08:30 - 16:00, Late - 13:30 - 21:00


• However, you may be required to work hours outside of these according to business needs.


• £12.71 per hour

Job Introduction

We're looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our busy catering team at Dalton Barracks, Abingdon, OX13 6JB. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll support both our front-of-house and kitchen operations, helping to deliver excellent food and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Whether you're serving customers, preparing fresh food, or keeping the kitchen running smoothly, you'll play an important part in creating a positive dining experience. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone with customer service experience looking to build a career in catering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming experience for customers.


• Serving food and drinks while ensuring high standards of presentation.


• Using our digital ordering and ticketing system to process customer orders accurately.


• Preparing simple food items, including sandwiches and wraps.


• Supporting the kitchen team with food preparation and kitchen porter duties.


• Washing dishes, cleaning work areas and maintaining excellent hygiene standards.


• Restocking supplies and ensuring food is stored safely following stock rotation procedures.


• Assisting with setting up and clearing down food service areas.


• Following all food safety, health & safety and hygiene procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous customer service experience.


• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.


• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.


• Good attention to detail.


• Confidence using technology or willingness to learn digital ordering systems.


• The ability to remain professional when handling customer queries or complaints.
