This temporary role is for a Catering Assistant to join Berkeley Scott in Blackpool, supporting school catering operations starting in September. Working alongside Impact Food Group, you will undertake various duties within school kitchens across the local area. The position offers term-time work with school hours, designed to accommodate childcare or other personal commitments. Key responsibilities include food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness. Candidates should possess previous catering experience. The role provides weekly pay, flexible shift patterns, and the chance to work across multiple sites. A competitive salary is offered for this ongoing assignment, supported by a helpful recruitment team. Pay rates are dependent on the role and your level of experience.

- Support the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team
- Help prepare and serve hot and cold food
- Serve meals to children while working closely with teachers and support staff
- Operate tills and process payments where required
- Clean down kitchen and dining areas at the end of service
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and safety
- Follow all food safety and allergen procedures
- Keep food service areas clean, organised and fully stocked
- Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure an efficient meal service
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment (school catering experience is desirable but not essential)
- Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or a willingness to complete them
- An Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List, or willingness to obtain one
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy catering environment
- A reliable, professional and positive attitude
- Confidence working independently as well as part of a team
- A passion for providing great food service and supporting busy kitchen operations
