Role Summary

This role involves leading strategic sourcing activities and managing key stakeholder and supplier relationships within the Technology spend category. Responsibilities include driving savings, value, innovation, and compliance, while supporting wider business objectives through proactive collaboration and effective supplier management.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Developing and executing category and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives.
  2. Maintaining a pipeline for forecasting savings and increases over 12-24 months.
  3. Delivering cost savings, risk mitigation, and value-added opportunities.
  4. Conducting spend analysis, market assessments, and opportunity identification.
  5. Leading sourcing activities including tendering, negotiating, and contracting.
  6. Collaborating with Supplier Risk Management for effective governance.
  7. Serving as a trusted business partner and advisor to key stakeholders.
  8. Driving early project engagement to align commercial, operational, and strategic goals.
  9. Setting KPIs and expectations for strategic suppliers.
  10. Identifying and implementing supplier-led innovations.
  11. Leading Supplier Relationship Management to manage risks and monitor performance, ensuring compliance within the SRM Framework.
  12. Supporting personal and professional growth through coaching.
  13. Championing knowledge sharing, best practices, and team development.
  14. Ensuring procurement activities comply with policies and regulations.

Skills, Capabilities, and Attributes

  • CIPS qualification is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in procurement Category Management, especially in Technology.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and systems.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into effective relationship management strategies.
  • Track record of achieving targets and results.
  • Strong contract management skills, including SLAs and KPIs.
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of contract performance management and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Analytical skills with experience in procurement data and reporting.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to promote procurement benefits.
