As a Casual Night Porter, key responsibilities include:
  • Providing a friendly and efficient service to guests at all times ensuring company policy and procedures are complied with at all times
  • Assuming Night Manager tasks, as required, when the Night Manager is dealing with priorities on shift
  • Arranging collection, delivery and storage of guest luggage, ordering and delivering newspapers and maintaining the cleanliness of public areas during the night
  • Providing general security in the Hotel and carrying security back up procedures, as requested and informing the Night Manager of issues to ensure that they are dealt with effectively
  • Cashing up procedures
  • Following the check in and check out policy procedures for guests arriving late or departing early
  • Answering the phone during the night, collecting breakfast orders and providing lounge and room service, charging as appropriate to guest accounts
  • Ensuring the restaurant is set up and prepared for Breakfast
What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience in a quality hotel
  • Experience of Night shift
  • Excellent communications skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure with a positive, 'can do' attitude
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience of using a Front Office Management system, e.g., Opera
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, depending on the needs of the business
