Site Support Assistant

Our client is seeking a dedicated Site Support Assistant to join their premises team. This is a varied and hands-on role that is vital to the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, ensuring that facilities, grounds and buildings are well maintained, safe and ready for learning.
The Role
Working under the direction of the Site Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the security, maintenance, cleanliness and operational effectiveness of the school site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the school buildings and grounds remain secure, particularly outside normal school hours.
- Carrying out general porterage duties across the site.
- Undertaking basic maintenance tasks including heating, lighting, plumbing, security systems, painting and decorating.
- Supporting cleaning duties as required to maintain high standards across the school.
- Setting up facilities and rooms for school activities, events and external hirers.
- Maintaining school minibuses, including refuelling and ensuring vehicles remain clean and presentable.
- Storing equipment, furniture and materials safely and securely.
- Following health and safety procedures and taking appropriate action to address identified hazards.
- Assisting with the upkeep of the school grounds to ensure they remain safe, tidy and fit for purpose.
- Participating in training and professional development activities as required.
- Supporting the wider operational needs of the school as directed by the Site Manager.
