School Caretaker - Ashford

Hours: Monday to FridayPay: £14+ per hourEmployer: Working on behalf of Academics for a local school

Academics are currently recruiting a full-time School Caretaker to support a friendly local school in Ashford. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with previous caretaking, facilities, or site support experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and securing the school site

  • General site maintenance and basic repairs

  • Carrying out health & safety checks

  • Setting up rooms for school activities and events

  • Ensuring the school grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained

  • Supporting staff with ad-hoc site-related tasks

  • Liaising with contractors where required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a caretaker, site assistant, or facilities operative (preferred)

  • Reliable, practical, and hands-on approach

  • Good understanding of health & safety

  • Able to work independently and take initiative

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
