Description

Sandwell College Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Careers Officer to join the Careers Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the College Group's Careers Strategy, Careers Plan, and Careers Education Programme while providing impartial, confidential, and high-quality Information, advice and Guidance (IAG) services to learners across our campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one careers guidance and group sessions.
• Support the delivery of the College's Careers Education Programme.
• Coordinate careers events, workshops, and UCAS activities.
• Build relationships with employers, universities, and external organisations.
• Monitor and report on learner engagement, progression, and careers-related KPIs.
• Support the College in meeting Gatsby Benchmarks and careers quality standards.
• Attend external meetings and represent the College when required.
• Keep learners and staff informed about career opportunities, labour market trends, and progression routes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Level 6 qualification in Advice and Guidance (or equivalent).
• Careers Guidance qualification, ideally at Level 6.
• Experience delivering careers advice and guidance in an educational setting.
• Experience working with young people, including those with additional needs.
• Experience of UCAS processes and higher education progression.
• Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and careers quality frameworks.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or ability to travel to our different sites.
