Job Description
Overview

Here at Brownhills Ormiston Academy, we are looking for an exceptional Careers Advisor to inspire students to think about their future possibilities, aim high, and motivate them both in school and beyond. The role involves ensuring the academy fulfils its duty to students by working with employers and other partners, meeting Gatsby Benchmarks and the National Quality Careers Mark standards, and encouraging students to acquire the skills valued by employers.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with employers, training providers and community organisations to design and deliver career advice and guidance programmes.
  • Assess students' current strengths and areas for development and create personalised action plans to enhance employability.
  • Provide guidance on education, training and career options, including post 16 and higher education pathways.
  • Maintain accurate student records, ensuring confidentiality and integrity within the workplace.
  • Support the academy's quality of education team and contribute to the overall pastoral care strategy.
  • Encourage and motivate students to aim high, fostering a positive learning experience for all.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well with students and staff.
  • Organised, reliable and enthusiastic, with a strong eye for detail and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated commitment, energy and drive to work within a dynamic and supportive team.
  • Experience in career guidance or a related educational setting is preferred.
