We are a 9 doctor practice based in Wandsworth London.We are looking for an experienced receptionist and administrator, who is a friendly and enthusiastic person, to join our team to work full time. The right candidate will have excellent customer service and a willingness to learn. The main duties include welcoming patients, answering and navigating phone calls, Filing,photocopying and scanning, processing and issuing prescriptions, providing support to the whole practice team to ensure efficient and effective running of the practice.
Main duties of the jobYou must have excellent customer service as you will be the first point of contact for patients. You must have enthusiasm and motivation to learn and be able to work within a team. You must be able to present yourself in a professional manner and be able to communicate confidently whilst showing care towards patients. You must be able to work flexibly on a shift pattern between the hours of 07:45 and 18:30.
About usWe are a busy and friendly GP practice in Wandsworth caring for over 11000 patients. You will be entitled to 20 days annual leave (pro rate for pt staff) plus 8 days Public holidays.
We are part of the Wandsworth GP federation, who offer support,education and training for all our staff. The appointed Receptionist will have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of personaland professional development opportunities within Wandsworth and across southwest London. Our Wandsworth Training Hub supports our frontline admin &managerial staff through our Passport Development Programme which includes:effective coding, medical terminology, medical summarising, telephone triage, and managing clinical correspondence to name a few!
Job responsibilitiesReceive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way demonstrating excellent customer service.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Person Specification Experience- Good general education GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Sound IT proficiency
- Have the ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by telephone and in person
- Well-mannered and presented
- Excellent organisational skills
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work
- Experience of working in a patient-facing role in a GP Practice
- Experience of working in a busy environment and prioritising competing demands
- Experience with EMIS, Docman10 and other clinical systems
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrate initiative
- Recognise and identity learning needs and act on them appropriately
