Job Description
Care Group Administrative Assistant - Permanent Post

The post holder is to support the Care Group Support Officer (CGSO) in the operational management and delivery of divisional priorities. Supporting the Care Group of Long Term Conditions (Respiratory, Diabetes & Endocrine, and Nephrology), they will facilitate the continuous provision of high quality administrative support to the Care Group Management team. The role involves ensuring that patients are proactively managed and monitored to support the delivery of the Trust 18 week RTT target and to maintain ongoing compliance with national and local waiting time targets.

The post holder will also provide effective liaison with patients and clinicians to ensure that all Trust targets are met, and will support the CGSO in monitoring clinic utilisation and back filling clinics so the 18 week RTT waiting time targets are achieved. This includes booking Cancer 2WW patients in accordance with targets and tracking the Choose & Book system and pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure operational practice meets policy in line with local and national requirements.
  • Measure and report performance against key access targets, identifying areas of concern and recommending solutions.
  • Support the delivery and preparation of clinical notes and documentation so patients can be seen.
  • Assist in working toward the business success of the Division.
  • Act as point of contact for all members of the Multi Disciplinary Team and external stakeholders, organising own workload within defined guidelines.
  • Provide proactive identification, escalation and resolution of any patient pathway issues relating to 18 week delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Enthusiastic and positive team player.
  • Experience working in an administrative setting, preferably within healthcare.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Trust IT systems such as Careflow and Fusion.
  • A well organised individual with attention to detail and ability to manage workload responsively.

Training for the systems we use will be provided.

Work Hours

37.5 hours per week.
