Whetstone Medical Centre is looking a for care coordinator / receptionist to join the practice on 6-month fixed term basis with the option to become permanent. The successful candidate will help navigate patients to the most suitable health care professional.
Main duties of the jobMaintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately. Signpost patients to the correct service. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies. Photocopy documentation as required. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary. Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.

Person Specification Experience- We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills. Clear & polite telephone manner. Strong IT skills and proficient in the use of MS Office and Outlook.

- Flexibility to work outside of core office hours as practice is open from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. The 35 hours will be split over the week in shifts (early & late) during these times.
- Experience of working in primary care or working in a GP practice.
