Cardiology Admin Volunteer - Wycombe Hospital About this role

At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we have a simple vision - Safe and Compassionate Care Every Time. Volunteers help to enhance the patient experience and complement the work of paid members of staff.

Commitment

A minimum of 3 hours a week for a minimum period of 6 months. Monday to Friday (anytime between 08:00-17:00 and minimum 3 hours)

What are the key tasks? (non clinical role)
  • Greet patients coming to the department, check them off the clinic list and show them to the waiting area
  • Be a friendly face and welcoming to patients coming to the department
  • Make calls to patients to confirm their attendance
  • Fold letters
  • Act as a link between patients and clinical teams
What isn't expected
  • Provide counselling and therapy
  • Give medical advice
  • Administer medication or provide intimate care

Essential requirement/commitment
  • Volunteers must be over 18 years.
  • All Volunteers will require a DBS check.
  • Participation in the training relevant to your role and confidential discussion of any reasonable adjustments required to meet your needs.
