An exciting opportunity has arisen for a cardiac specialist exercise practitioner to join our growing Cardiac and Heart Failure Rehabilitation service within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic individual keen to develop their knowledge, reasoning and competence within core cardiovascular rehabilitation. You will embrace and model our Health Board values, have excellent communication and time management skills and a strong team working ethos. You willsupport innovation and change and be committed to developing services.
Main duties of the jobWorking as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of a holistic and individualised programme of cardiovascular rehabilitation for people who have had a cardiac diagnosis, surgery or procedure. You will work autonomously in conducting patient assessments and functional capacity testing as well as leading individual and group exercise training and health education sessions. Along with other multidisciplinary team members, you will actively promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle change.
You will be encouraged to engage with professional development opportunities including local in-service training opportunities, clinical audit, research and clinical supervision and mentoring. We have a structured appraisal system with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework. You will also have the opportunity to assist in the education and mentoring of healthcare students undertaking clinical placements within the department.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speaking applicants are equally welcome to apply.
