The Capital Markets Legal Practice Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) handles and advises on a broad portfolio of capital markets matters through a team located in London and Mumbai.

As a Capital Markets lawyer - Vice Presidentin the EMEA Capital Markets Legal Product Group youwill be responsible primarily for documenting, reviewing and executing EMEA ECM, EQL and private capital transactions including equity private placements, IPOs, rights issues and other documented follow-ons, primary and secondary ABBs, convertible and exchangeable bonds and liability management transactions. You will closely work with the business teams, risk and control areas and legal colleagues globally.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the business groups across EMEA and other offices globally which originate transactions, through structuring and execution of transactions including review and negotiation of legal documents, legal advice and providing guidance on risk assessment and solutions
  • Liaise with the business teams, other control areas and colleagues in legal in setting/maintaining documentation standards, internal policies, practice guidelines and monitoring relevant legal, regulatory and documentation developments
  • Share experience and know-how with colleagues in legal, where appropriate globally. Provide training to the business and within legal
  • Participate in legal and Firm-wide projects

  • Keen interest in transactional, legal and regulatory work
  • Must be able to demonstrate solid equity capital markets experience at a law firm or an in house legal team at an investment bank
  • Lawyer must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
  • Foreign languages - an advantage but not a necessity
  • Experience advising on DCM transactions
