About the Role

As a Group Leader at Camp Beaumont, you'll play a key role in creating fun, engaging and unforgettable experiences for children aged 3 -14.

Working as part of our activity team, you'll help deliver our award-winning multi-activity day camps, ensuring children are safe, supported and having an amazing time throughout their day.

You'll be responsible for leading and supporting a range of activities, which could include archery, football, tennis, dance, swimming, arts and crafts and much more.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting engaging activities for children aged 3 - 14.
  • Creating a fun, energetic and inclusive environment where every child can get involved.
  • Supervising children throughout the day and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Supporting the Head Group Leader and wider management team with the smooth running of camp.
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents/carers and fellow team members.
  • Encouraging children to try new activities, develop confidence and make new friends.
  • Adapting activities to suit different ages, abilities and interests.
  • Following Camp Beaumont's safeguarding, health and safety and operational procedures.
  • Getting involved in all aspects of camp life and being willing to step in wherever needed.
A Day in the Life of a Group Leader

No two days at Camp Beaumont are the same!

One minute you could be leading a team game on the sports field; the next you could be helping children create something amazing in arts and crafts or supporting a swimming session.

As a Group Leader, you'll be at the heart of the camp experience. Keeping children active, engaged and having fun while making sure they feel safe, included and supported throughout the day.

About You

We're looking for enthusiastic, energetic and positive people who genuinely enjoy working with children and want to make a difference to their school holidays.

You will ideally have:

  • Bags of energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The confidence to lead activities and engage groups of children.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • A fun, friendly and approachable personality.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and support your colleagues.
  • A willingness to get involved and give every activity a go.An awareness of safeguarding children; full training will also be provided.
Must Haves
  • 17 years old or over.
  • Available to work during the school holidays.
  • A UK/EU citizen with 2 x right to work IDs.
  • A genuine interest in working with children and creating positive experiences.
  • The energy and enthusiasm to work in a busy, active holiday camp environment.
  • Successful candidates must be able to complete the required background checks.
  • Previous holiday camp or children's activity experience.
  • Experience coaching sports, leading activities or facilitating workshops.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification, PGCE or similar.

Pay

We offer competitive rates of pay, with Group Leader rates ranging from £10.85 - £12.71 per hour, depending on age and experience.

Hourly rate is age dependent and includes holiday pay.
