Posted 1 hour 38 minutes ago by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
The GP Youth Clinic focuses on early intervention, prevention, and improving access to mental health support for young people in Lewisham. We are seeking a proactive and organised Senior Administrator to support day to day service delivery. This role extends beyond traditional administration, offering supporting triage meetings, multidisciplinary working, and service development-ideal for those interested in a young people community mental health.
You will coordinate appointments, manage confidential patient records, and communicate with young people, families, and professionals across services. The role also involves supporting data collection, analysis, and report writing, while contributing to service improvement and the smooth running of the clinic. Building relationships with community partners and stakeholders will be key to strengthening local support networks.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. An interest in mental health and working with young people is essential, along with confidence in handling data and producing reports. A proactive, collaborative approach and passion for supporting diverse communities are important.
This role offers valuable experience in a CAMHS-related setting and the opportunity to develop skills relevant to an Assistant Psychologist career.
In this role, you will work closely with clinicians delivering evidence based psychological therapies within a CAMHS setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team while supporting triage and screening of referrals and contributing to monthly service reports. You will help run the GP Youth Clinic by registering referrals, maintaining databases to track patient progress, ensuring accurate, up to date records, and being present during clinic hours. Responsibilities include managing GP appointments, coordinating referral lists, and preparing cases for triage meetings. You will ensure outcomes from triage and MDT discussions are recorded accurately on clinical systems such as EMIS and EPJS, including whether referrals are accepted or declined.
You will also support onward referrals by liaising with relevant services, completing follow up actions on EMIS, and ensuring all documentation is properly recorded and stored across systems. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a busy community mental health environment.
Overall, this post offers an excellent opportunity to develop experience in community mental health, gain insight into clinical pathways, and support a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes for young people.
