Job Description

An exciting opportunity has opened up within North East Wales CAMHS. We are seeking an experienced practitioner to join our teams across Wrexham & Flintshire. Please specify your preferred base on application, allocations will be made after interview on a needs basis.

The successful candidate will join our clinical team providing assessment and interventions for children and young people.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for practitioners who can work flexibly across the different areas of the service with the enthusiasm needed to engage a wide range of children, young people, their families and other professionals in meeting their diverse needs. You must be a registered professional with a relevant governing body (NMC, Social Care Wales or health professionals council) and be able to deliver mental health assessments (compliant with The Mental Health Measure Wales 2010) and evidence based interventions for children and young people.

Experience of working in the community with children and young people/adults who are displaying a range of risk type behaviours, complex mental health needs and complex family situations would be an advantage.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Core professional qualification in a health or social care field such as nursing or social work
  • Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach
Experience
  • Significant experience working with children, young people and families in a health or social care environment
  • Able to use formal assessment tools / clinical interviews
Knowledge
  • Good Knowledge of mental health problems and disorders
  • Understanding of service structures and inter-agency working
