Location Job Purpose

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Start Date: September 2025

As a Calibration & Repair Engineer Apprentice you will be part of a team responsible for repairing, testing, calibrating, and adjusting a wide range of test and measurement equipment from various electrical and physical parameters.

You will become an integral member of the team and make a significant contribution to the business in achieving its ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities
  1. Observing, learning, and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes whilst under the guidance of skilled technical staff.
  2. Demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or as part of a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and to increase overall contribution to the department.
  3. To undertake and successfully complete suitable college and/or practical training course(s) throughout the training period, achieving the academic grades and practical skills in order to entitle yearly progression.
  4. Learn and understand the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace.
  5. Learn how to maintain workshop equipment and keep it in good working order.
  6. Maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship, recording projects that have been undertaken and skills that have been learned.
  7. Maintain and ensure good housekeeping of the workplace.
  8. Any other reasonable duties appropriate to grade and role as required.
  9. Adhere to all policy and legislative requirements in respect of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
  1. 5 GCSEs, Grade 4 or above, or equivalent, in Maths, Science and English.
  2. Practical and technical skills.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Excellent timekeeper.
  5. Flexible approach to working.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  7. Good interpersonal skills.
  8. Good self-starter with tenacity and drive.
