We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD/CAM Programmer to join our team delivering design, engineering and manufacturing solutions for a wide range of customers. The role of the Programmer, reporting to the Programming Manager, will be responsible for programming 3- and 5-axis CNC milling machines using HyperMill to deliver a range of components, tooling & fixturing. Roles and responsibilities- Be responsible for programming 3-axis Vertical Machining Centres (VMC's)
- Be responsible for programming 5-axis Milling Centres.
- Be responsible for the programming of 3 and 5-axis machines to run low and high-volume production parts.
- Work with a wide variety of materials including aluminium, steel, stainless steel, plastics, nylon, copper and brass.
- Use their CAD skills to draw suitable fixtures for one-off solutions and/or production runs.
- Work closely with the shop floor team to assist in changes required to help streamline the machining process.
- Assist in NI Precision's training program by training apprentice programmers when required.
- Possess a good understanding of 3 and 5-axis programming techniques.
- Possess an innovative approach to problem solving.

- Have good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including the ability to read engineering drawings and create detailed set up documentation.

- Minimum of 3 years' experience programming 3 & 5 axis machining centres
- Experience using Hypermill CAD/CAM software will be advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high precision machine shop environment, such as aerospace/defence or medical device manufacturing
- Be apprenticeship trained and hold a minimum of NVQ level 3 in engineering
