Managing Director, Asset Allocation

Overview

Blackstone Credit and Insurance delivers investment management expertise to insurers, helping them meet long term policyholder obligations and drive shareholder value.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a multi asset class investment solutions capability by collaborating with Blackstone's portfolio managers to construct tailored product offerings for insurers globally.
• Develop strong relationships with asset management teams across the platform to gain a deep understanding of Blackstone's collective investment capabilities.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision makers at insurance company clients.
• Review and monitor investment performance, portfolio risk characteristics, and compliance with client investment policies and guidelines.
• Help oversee the drafting of investment memos, presentations, and marketing materials for potential and existing clients on investment options, as well as for regulators and rating agencies on diligence requests.
• Construct detailed financial models and valuation analyses.
• Conduct insurance industry research and analysis.
• Perform any additional assignments, duties or responsibilities as required by Blackstone in its sole discretion.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional experience, preferably in investment banking, insurance, or asset management.
• Strong expertise managing and advising portfolios across public and private markets, including corporate and structured credit.
• Deep understanding of regulatory, ALM, and risk considerations for insurers.
• Strong accounting and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well in a lean team environment.
• Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, good judgment, and a positive attitude.
