Job DescriptionThe Government Property Agency is seeking a friendly, flexible, and inspiring Business Systems Manager to lead the development and delivery of innovative enterprise systems that support their organisation's success. Working with leading-edge technology such as Microsoft Copilot, you will be tasked with transforming the tools and systems available to the GPA's workforce.
As part of the leadership team, you'll shape the future of the GPA's digital portfolio, overseeing strategy, architecture, systems delivery, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will drive digital innovation and automation, ensuring seamless integration of leading-edge platforms and operational efficiency.
This role sits at the intersection of Smart Buildings, BIM/CAD, IoT-driven Digital Twin, and cutting-edge AI (Generative AI and Agentic AI). You will define strategy, shape enterprise architecture (TOGAF), drive delivery excellence, and optimise operations (ITIL/ITSM) across GPA's ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and articulate a forward-thinking digital platform strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritise enterprise system requirements.
- Work closely with C-level executives to influence investments.
- Lead enterprise, business, and application architecture.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to digital platform strategy, architecture, delivery, and operations.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery following the Digital & Data Delivery Framework (DDF).
- Establish operational processes for system functionality.
- Lead planning and execution of release and deployment activities.
- Take ownership of the operational health of digital platforms, ensuring security, availability, and performance.
- Implement ITIL service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Champion innovation in operational processes.
- Implement configuration management and ensure documentation of configurations, releases, and changes.
- Lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Experience and Technical Skills
Essential criteria:
- Leadership skills, including the ability to inspire teams, foster collaboration, and mentor team members.
- A proven track record of leading transformational projects and delivering complex systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Developing strategy for business systems.
- Implementing robust business and systems architecture.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture and service management.
Desirable criteria:
- IT Service Management experience using best practices to enhance the delivery and support of IT services.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework, including successful rollout and adoption of practices for service delivery.
- A competitive salary range of £60,000 - £66,000.
- 28.9% Civil Service Pension.
