This roleBusiness Support Manager - leading and enhancing our business support functions in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the business support team, ensuring effective delivery of core responsibilities with a focus on process and results.
- Conduct line management duties, including 1 1s and appraisals, and inspire and develop team members.
- Define and embed supportive processes that drive innovation across all functions; collaborate with departments to create policies, procedures, and How To guides.
- Act as super user for internal systems, manage user account set up and deactivation, and support training delivery.
- Manage the ticketing system to meet SLAs, distribute internal post/deliveries, and host visitors.
- Partner with Procurement to track tools/equipment, maintain stock levels, and manage asset tracking and issuance.
- Oversee travel, accommodation bookings, reporting on usage and escalations.
- Manage head office facilities, negotiate third party agreements, manage key holder procedures, and ensure maintenance and compliance checks including PAT testing.
- Maintain company IT equipment, track allocation and asset tagging, organise repairs/replacements, and act as core contact with our IT provider.
- Oversee fleet compliance - insurance, MOT, servicing, driver eligibility, incident management, vehicle safety, and mitigate risks.
- Own allocation, utilisation, maintenance, cost control, and budget optimisation of fleet.
- Monitor, analyse and report on driver behaviours: tracker info, vehicle checks, PCNs, speeding, curfews, etc.
- Proficiency with productivity and collaboration software (Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint) across devices.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to adapt styles to verbal and written instruction.
- Strong interpersonal skills and initiative, capable of working collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated ability in team management.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Knowledge of workflow management systems, including procurement and financial processes.
- Confidence in producing and presenting reports.
- Willingness to support development of direct reports.
- Good understanding of PPE, COSHH and risk assessment.
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
- Emergency First Aid delivered at work.
- Experience leading a team and driving system improvements.
- Experience in small to medium fleet management.
- Experience managing or taking part in small and large scale projects.
- Compliance with company policies, procedures, and business ethics, including anti bribery and ISO aligned environmental and quality management.
