Job Description

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking an experienced Business Support Assistant to join our Family Help and Family Help Safeguarding teams based in Ellesmere Port. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality administrative and business support within a busy service that is dedicated to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families. The successful candidate will be organised, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team.

As a Business Support Assistant, you will provide a comprehensive range of administrative and business support services to the Family Help and Family Help Safeguarding teams based in Ellesmere Port. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including managing enquiries, maintaining accurate records and databases, preparing correspondence, reports and presentations, organising meetings, taking minutes, and supporting reception functions where required.

The role requires effective communication skills to ensure enquiries are responded to promptly, professionally and accurately, providing up-to-date information to colleagues, partner agencies and members of the public. You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining service information systems, producing reports and data analysis to support managers and assist with service planning, performance monitoring and decision-making.

Working as part of a busy and supportive team, you will contribute to the smooth running of day-to-day operations, helping to ensure business processes are delivered efficiently and effectively. You will support service reviews, improvement initiatives and projects, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and customer experience while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality and customer service. Through your work, you will play an important role in supporting services that make a positive difference to children, young people and families across Cheshire West and Chester.
