We prioritise our customers' needs, while also valuing our planet and fostering a thriving, people-first environment.# Your Role in Carbery's SuccessWe are looking for a Business Intelligence Support Engineer to join our BI team and take ownership of day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and front-end development across our Power BI environment. Working closely with Senior BI Developers, you will manage incoming requests and incidents, deliver targeted fixes, and build high-quality reports and data models that business teams can rely on. This is a role with genuine technical depth - strong Power BI capability is essential - and clear scope to grow across the broader Microsoft Fabric stack over time.# How You Will Contribute Triage, prioritise, and resolve Power BI incidents, dashboard issues, and enhancement requests within agreed SLAs. Design and develop intuitive, performant reports and semantic models using Power BI, DAX, and Power Query, in line with established standards. Write and maintain SQL for curated datasets, including query optimisation and data quality validation. Define test cases, validate fixes, and document outcomes to ensure reliability and repeatability. Manage BI assets using Git-based version control, following branching conventions and contributing to deployment routines. Work directly with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, agree acceptance criteria, and communicate progress clearly. Document common issues, playbooks, and FAQs to support first-line BI queries across the wider IT team. Contribute to agile sprint sessions, maintain up-to-date tickets, and help refine backlog items into deliverable tasks. Monitor report usage and performance metrics, and recommend iterative improvements to user experience. Essential Requirements 3-5 years' experience delivering Power BI solutions, with strong DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and report design capability. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Solid understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehouse concepts High level of accuracy and consistency across report design, calculations, and definitions Clear communicator - able to translate technical detail for non-technical stakeholders and capture actionable requirements Organised and proactive, with the ability to triage and prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment Desirable Requirements Working knowledge of SQL Server, including joins, window functions, and stored procedures for analytics use cases.
