Role overviewThe Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining interactive and informative dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data analysis, report generation, and a deep understanding of business intelligence concepts. This role requires collaboration with various departments to gather requirements and ensure the effective use of Power BI and other ABM & third party platforms to meet and align operational demands and other innovations.
Main Duties- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Data Modelling: Create and maintain efficient data models, including data cleaning, transformation, and aggregation.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, including databases, cloud services, and APIs, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate and align with business users, clients and third party service partners to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements and dashboard solutions.
- Performance Optimisation: Optimise the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring quick load times and responsive interactions.
- User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end users on all platforms, functionalities and best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for Power BI solutions, including data models, reports and dashboards.
- Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest Power BI features, tools, industry innovations and best practices to continuously improve reporting, analytics capabilities and client experience.
- Education: Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in business intelligence and data analytics, with a strong focus on Power BI, dashboards within a client environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platforms.
- Familiarity with other Microsoft BI tools, such as SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS, is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including senior client levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or similar certifications.
- Experience: Experience in Facilities Management Industry is a plus.
- Additional Skills: Familiarity with other data visualization tools and programming languages such as Python or R.
