Job Description
Business Development manager

Location: Ireland (travel to UK required)

Reporting To: Managing Director

Role Purpose

To lead Truwood's business growth in two strategic areas:

  • Securing and increasing high-end bespoke residential joinery work in domestic market.
  • Growing export business in the UK hospitality & high-end residential sectors.
Role
  • Develop and implement a business development strategy to increase market share and profitability.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective go-to market plans and build strategic partnerships to drive company growth.
  • Identify opportunities, build pipelines, and secure contracts in target markets.
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, and contractors.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial, marketing, design, and operations teams.
  • Represent Truwood at trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events in Ireland & the UK.
  • Develop a CPD programme and organise CPD lunches with relevant architects and interior designers.
  • Report to management with KPIs on performance, forecasts, and new opportunities.
Criteria
  • Proven experience in business development/marketing within construction, bespoke joinery, interiors, or fit-out sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Motivated & organised with ability to take initiative and achieve measurable results.
  • Flexible to travel regularly across Ireland and the UK.
  • Established network and knowledge of high-end residential and/or hospitality markets.
Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 5 years in a sales or business development role.
  • Relevant background in construction, joinery, or interior design sector.
  • Degree in business, construction management, or similar is advantageous but not essential.
