Business Development Manager

Castlemartyr Resort is looking for a highly motivated, results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Sales and Marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maximising all sales opportunities with particular focus on the corporate, meetings and events and group segments.
Key focus of this role will be on achieving the strategic and tactical activities set out in the Sales and Marketing Plan along with driving sales and implementing new ideas, new business alignments and driving revenue to achieve budget in tandem with the Sales and Marketing team and Director of Sales and Marketing.
Knowledge and experience in the following areas is essential:- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in a Sales or Business Development role, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Proven experience driving sales across diverse resort categories: Hotel & Residence accommodation, F&B, Room Hire, Spa, Leisure,and Golf
- Direct experience working with annual sales
- Strong working knowledge of the European, US, and overseastravel markets
- Proven track record of seeking out and securing new corporate and leisure contracts in line with hotel budgetary requirements.
- Experience in dealing with portfolio's of accounts in corporate, MICE, business groups, agents, tour operator, group, and leisure segments in local, regional, and global markets
- Experience in lead generation and or creating successful sales pitches.
- Ability to conduct research to identify & develop new business opportunities
- A proven track record in group and event conversion, as well as achieving sales targets.
- This role will involve travel; candidates must have access to a car for work & hold a full, clean drivers licence and be willing to travel overseas from time to time.
- Must be target driven and capable of driving new business on their own initiative.

- Identify new leads and sales opportunities for the Resort
- Undertake weekly proactive sales calls/activities with clients as per agreed KPIs
- Promote and generate new business for transient corporate, group and meetings & events segments and other segments as required
- Organise and conduct site inspections and FAM trips
- Represent the Resort at various events and trade fairs
- Maintain database with focus on growing & segmenting contacts for better communication
- Competitor analysis updates and reviews
- Maintain the highest level of communication internally and externally in line with the five-star hotel brand standards
- Manage email communication with the various segments
- Ensure all F&B outlets, golf, spa, weddings and leisure centre are being presented to the market appropriately, maximising sales opportunities for each of these outlets.
- Support the creation and implementation of the sales strategy to ensure that budget is achieved monthly,quartelly and annually.
