Business Application Specialist

Purpose of the Role:

The role involves ensuring that systems supporting existing business processes operate correctly and efficiently, with applications maintenance and support delivered within SLA.

Additionally, it includes maintaining essential IT hardware used in the distribution centers (DCs), managing swap outs and spare parts to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.

The candidate will work with the Business to scope, design, develop, and implement new or enhanced business requirements, and support the operations management team to improve efficiencies or address challenges.

This position is part of the wider Clarks logistics team, responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the distribution center.

Job Overview:

People: No direct reports; collaboration with analysts and specialists in other workstream verticals.

Key Relationships:

• Business teams and Managers, DC Process Owners, DC Operation Managers, DC Shop Floor FTE, and super users.
• IT Department: Application Leaders, Senior Project Managers, Service Teams, Business Integration Team.
• External software providers, e.g., HighJump/Knapp.
• External service providers, e.g., Maersk/Ensign/Avalon.
• External consulting partners.

Impact on the Business:

This role has a critical impact on the business. The support and service provided for logistics applications ensure system uptime, which is essential for meeting fulfillment and SLA targets across all channels. Downtime can lead to financial losses and customer dissatisfaction. The analyst will make key decisions to resolve issues and restore systems efficiently, ensuring minimal negative effects on operations.
