The apprentice will receive a salary in accordance with the National Minimum Wage. The role offers a unique opportunity to work within the Cyngor Gwynedd apprenticeship program, gaining experience across administrative and community based services to promote independence using assistive technology.

  • Reading and comprehension - intermediate level; understanding of everyday correspondence and longer reports.
  • Writing - intermediate level; ability to write letters, emails, and short reports in Welsh and English.
Job Description

Purpose of the post

  • Receive experience and support to complete an apprenticeship and gain qualifications in the field
  • Provide a blended service combining administrative work at a desk with practical support in the community, promoting independence through technology.

Main Duties

  • Support social services in meeting care needs and promoting independence of Gwynedd residents via telecare and assistive technology solutions.
  • Combine technical and community work: installation and repair of telecare equipment, administrative tasks, and travel to appointments across the county.
  • Shadow staff in finance, contracts, commissioning of care, and quality assurance units.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, handling enquiries, system administration, and managing stock and equipment.
  • Support projects that promote independence such as direct payments and digital initiatives.
  • Understand data handling processes and contribute to performance work.
  • Follow Council policies on health and safety, equality, data protection, and carbon reduction.
