Job Description

Position: Full-Time Temporary Admin OfficerContract: 6 MonthsWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours (37 hours per week)Hourly Rate: £12.36 per hour (£12.53 after the first 12 weeks)

Job Description:

Purpose of the Role:

To provide essential administrative and transactional support to managers and frontline staff in a defined area of work within HMPPS. While this is a non-operational role, it may involve contact with prisoners depending on the work area.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records and databases for your work area.

Act as the central contact point for communications, directing enquiries appropriately.

Support monitoring and reporting by completing returns and collating Service Delivery Indicators (SDIs).

Manage financial administration tasks including raising and processing requisitions.

Prepare documents and paperwork for management review, conducting initial checks.

Organise and take minutes for meetings as required.

Liaise with stakeholders and agencies to ensure information is properly shared.

Support awareness sessions and general coordination within your work area.

Basic financial and procurement administration.

Eligibility Requirements:

Security and identity checks are mandatory before appointment.

6-month probation period for external candidates (or internal, if not previously served).

Must declare membership in any group HMPPS deems racist.

Essential Requirements:

Must complete specialist training relevant to the role after appointment.
