Overview

Building Control Surveyor - Domestic Level 4A/5

£51,357 - £58,857 per annum + benefits • Permanent, Full-Time • Home Counties Local Authority • Hybrid working - on-site visits • Start: ASAP Interviews ongoing

Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of Band A domestic applications, carrying out plan checks, site inspections, and technical assessments.
  • Support Band B applications under supervision, including low-risk non-domestic buildings and dangerous structures.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and Building Regulations.
  • Respond to dangerous structures and contribute to enforcement actions where required.
  • Mentor Trainee and Assistant Surveyors, supporting their development and progression.
  • Maintain Registered Building Inspector status and uphold the Building Safety Regulator's Code of Conduct.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience delivering building control services across domestic projects.
  • Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2A, working towards Class 2F and Class 3.
  • Working knowledge of Band A schemes and relevant building regulations.
  • Full or working towards professional membership with RICS, CABE, CIOB, or equivalent.
  • Strong technical understanding of compliance, fire safety, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
