Bringing hope and support, Cornwall Tinnitus Roadshow, Falmouth - 5 July 2025On Saturday, 5 July 2025, the Cornwall community came together in Falmouth's Municipal Buildings for a very special stop on the Tinnitus UK Roadshow. The free event was a heartening success-packed with locals eager to better understand tinnitus, connect with others who experience it, and access local support.
A Roadshow with a Purpose
This roadshow stop was designed around three key aims:
- To provide a spacefor Cornwall's tinnitus community to share their experiences and learn more about their condition
- To amplify existing community tinnitus carein Cornwall, in partnership with local NHS services, private providers, and charity-sector experts
- To encourage more peopleto seek-and offer-local support through Tinnitus Support Groups
These goals were at the heart of every talk, discussion, and shared moment throughout the afternoon. And judging by the feedback, they truly resonated.
Expert Insight Meets Lived ExperienceThe session included informative presentations from local audiology professionals, including from K&M Hearing Solutions , who covered topics such as the science behind tinnitus, how to manage it day-to-day, and what support is available across Cornwall. Attendees left with real, practical strategies-ranging from sound therapy to mindfulness practices-tailored to local care pathways.
But more than information, the roadshow offered connection. People shared stories, experiences, and challenges in a welcoming, stigma-free space. As one attendee put it,
"It was so nice to meet other people with tinnitus I might be more on the tinnitus spectrum than I realised!"
Another said:
"Interesting talks which gave me a lot to think about! Very well done by all."
These voices echo what many felt-that learning about tinnitus is easier when it's shared.
Supporting What Already Exists-And Inspiring What's NextThe event also spotlighted local resources already in place, such as the Cornwall Tinnitus Groupbased in Truro. Attendees were encouraged to connect with this and other support groups, or even start new ones in their towns. Tinnitus UK's team worked closely with NHS Cornwall, private audiologists, and charities to highlight the strength of existing local partnerships and empower those in attendance to help build a world without tinnitus.
Thank You, Cornwall! The event was completely full, with every seat taken and every handout distributed. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, shared, asked questions, or simply sat and listened. This roadshow stop showed how powerful community-based support can be when it's done together.
Join Us in Plymouth!Missed the Falmouth stop? No worries-the next leg of the Tinnitus UK Roadshow will be in Plymouth on Saturday, 4 October 2025. Come meet local professionals, hear fresh talks, and connect with a community that understands what you're going through.
