We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Branch Manager within our Management team to lead our UK branch in Ammanford. Our company is a leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry. Our automotive products include Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. Our mission is to ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
Responsibilities- Leading a safety-first approach, maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensure and monitor compliance with work, accident prevention and environmental regulations to maintain a safe and productive work environment free of liabilities or defects
- Development and administration of the operational budget, controlling operational P&L and formulating actions to address variances and gaps, achieving revenue targets, maximizing productivity and cost optimization. Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality & Program Management to ensure continued delivery of the manufacturing plan
- Monitor quality and quantity of output; take appropriate action
- Optimize branch capacity and efficiency through flexible plant and manufacturing structures, drive improvements through Lean Manufacturing methods within operations and optimize production utilization
- Establish a culture of functional and Operational Excellence, support 5S, Lean initiatives and be a committed role model for the Company's Beliefs and Behaviors
- Establish and maintain internal capabilities and strengthen the organization (Succession Planning) through training and career development opportunities as necessary to achieve operating objectives
- Maintain strict adherence to internal and external business processes and certifications associated with a large US incorporation operating within the Automotive Industry and all local legal requirements
- Fulfill assigned primary, secondary and/or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned by the business
- 5-7 years of proven operations success in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing P&L
- Experience in people and project management
- Strong business acumen with proven track record and expertise
- Proven leadership skills in a growth and change-based manufacturing environment
- Strong multi-tasking skills with willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Proven ability to build relationships, drive results through internal partnerships and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Excellent oral, written, organizational and communication skills
