Job Description

Job description - Bookkeeper

I'm working with an accountancy practice that is looking for a Bookkeeper to support their clients and keep day-to-day financial operations running smoothly. You'll be involved in a mix of bookkeeping duties, helping maintain accurate records and contributing to an efficient, client-focused service.

Duties:

  • Accounts preparation to CT600 level
  • VAT preparation using various software systems
  • Personal Tax preparation
  • Communication of tax liabilities etc to clients via telephone, email or in person
  • Be responsible for meeting deadlines and filing returns
  • Clear communication of information with external bodies
  • Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette in handling calls and queries
  • Provide general advice to clients as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Accountancy role, to include VAT, CT600 and Personal Tax
  • Computer skills including Iris, Xero, Excel and Sage
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work autonomously and as a team member
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work and manage time effectively
  • Strong organisational skills to maintain a structured work environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (lunch 1pm - 2pm)

Experience:

  • accounting: 3 years (minimum preferred)

Work Location: In person
