About the role:

We're looking for a hands-on and experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to lead day-to-day financial operations from our Netherlands office. In this independent and versatile role, you'll manage the full scope of accounting activities: including bookkeeping, AP/AR, VAT, and reporting - not only for our Dutch entity, but also for additional European operations.

You'll work in a dynamic multinational, multi-currency environment, with a strong focus on intra-EU transactions, compliance, and financial accuracy.

Your mission:

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) across multiple European entities
• Perform bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations
• Record journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments
• Prepare and submit VAT filings for the Netherlands and additional EU jurisdictions
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Generate internal financial reports and support external audits
• Maintain and improve bookkeeping systems; support ERP (SAP) upgrades

What you'll bring:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
• MBO/HBO degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience in a multinational and multi-currency environment
• Familiarity with intra-EU transactions and reporting
• Strong knowledge of Dutch and EU VAT regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with SAP - a strong advantage
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
• Fluent in English (Dutch - advantage)
• Knowledge of other European accounting standards is a plus
