Join the board of one of the UK's most distinctive further education college groups and play a pivotal role in shaping futures.
NCG is one of the largest college groups in the UK, offering both further and higher education across a family of seven colleges around the country. Our colleges in London, Carlisle, Newcastle, Kidderminster and West Lancashire, serve thousands of learners each year - supporting them to achieve their potential and contribute to thriving local communities.
Recently inspected as Ofsted 'Good', we are 'Ambitious for Outstanding' and continue to grow and innovate. We're seeking individuals with a passion for education, social mobility, and community impact who can bring strategic insight, challenge, and a shared commitment to our mission to 'enable social mobility and economic prosperity through exceptional education'.
NCG stands apart for its inclusive approach, diverse localities and unwavering commitment to student success. As a Governor on the NCG Corporation Board, you'll gain a unique opportunity to influence strategic decisions, champion education, and drive meaningful change across our seven college communities. This is more than a governance role-it's a chance to transform lives, strengthen communities, and help unlock the potential of thousands of learners across the country.
We're particularly interested in individuals with strategic leadership experience in large and complex organisations who understand some of the challenges around, though not limited to, higher education compliance, Cyber/IT, industry, manufacturing, marketing and school leadership.
Independent Governors play a pivotal role in the success of NCG and its colleges. We anticipate that you will: contribute to the effective oversight and governance of NCG, play a key role in setting the strategic direction, provide constructive challenge to the executive leadership, uphold our values and contribute to meaningful outcomes for students, employers and communities.
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and are particularly keen to hear from those who bring fresh perspectives and lived experience that reflects the diverse communities we serve, and though desirable, we don't require successful candidates to have gained previous independent board experience.
