Job Description

A rapidly growing medical technology company is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to support the design and manufacture of cutting-edge patient-specific devices, including anatomical models, surgical guides and implants. Working closely with surgeons and clinical teams, this role offers the chance to directly impact patient outcomes while developing a career in an innovative, fast-expanding environment.

This role requires full right to work in the UK without restriction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Convert patient scan data into accurate 3D models using medical segmentation software
  • Design and manufacture custom medical devices in collaboration with surgeons
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS, PolyJet), including post-processing and inspection
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 quality standards and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Attend surgeries to provide technical support for cases
  • Support business development activities with hospitals and clinical partners
Required Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline
  • Industry experience in biomedical or medical engineering roles
  • Strong knowledge of medical segmentation software and patient-specific device design
  • Solid understanding of human anatomy and surgical procedures (orthopaedics/oncology focus)
  • Ability to discuss clinical cases with surgeons and recommend design solutions
Desirable Skills
  • CAD design for medical devices
  • Experience with Simpleware ScanIP, Materialise Mimics, or Freeform software
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 QMS
  • Project management and strong communication skills
  • Experience developing surgical simulation models

Location: Manchester based, with some regional travel
