The Department of Rural and Community Development and Gaeltacht (DRCDG) promotes rural and community development and the Irish language. The bilingual Internal Auditor role is at Higher Executive Officer level, which is a middle management position in the Civil Service. An Internal Auditor will be expected to play an important role in reviewing internal controls within the Department to help the Department to improve its operations.
Successful candidates must be a qualified member of the Institute of Internal Auditors or have full membership or eligibility for full membership (i.e. final exams have been passed) of a prescribed accountancy body supervised by the Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA) and have at least one year's auditing experience (post qualification) including knowledge and experience of the Global Internal Auditing Standards.
The panel formed from this competition will be used to fill vacancies which may arise for bilingual Internal Auditors (Higher Executive Officer) in Dublin, Ballina, Co. Mayo or in Na Forbacha, Co. Galway.
