We understand that finding time to volunteer can be challenging for all sorts of reasons, so we have created a range of flexible opportunities to make it as easy and convenient for as many people as possible to support the BHF and its lifesaving work.
You can volunteer from home or find something that's local to you. There are no set time commitments, you can volunteer as much or as little as you like. Once you've chosen an opportunity all you need to do is complete the relevant training and you're ready to go.
Whether you choose to volunteer from home, at an event or out in your local community, you'll be making a positive difference to the BHF - and we'll welcome you to the Action Team family!
What support is available?
- For each opportunity you sign up to you'll receive relevant online training or briefing information.
- You will receive a monthly volunteer newsletter with the latest stories, opportunities and how your volunteering makes a difference.
- You will have access to our Action Team Facebook group to build connections and share stories.
- You'll be supported by a team of staff at the BHF that can answer any questions you may have throughout your volunteer journey with us.
- You'll have access to a range of benefits, from discounts in our shops and money savings with national businesses.
- Through the BHF and partnerships with training providers you'll have access to learning & development opportunities to support you in your roles and beyond.
- All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our policies & procedures.
- You'll receive recognition for your volunteering contribution through certification and celebration. We love to celebrate and thank our wonderful volunteers!
