Job Description

One of our international clients is looking for a Senior Project Manager for Battery Storage for the Italian market.

The candidate will oversee the development, financing, construction, and operation of energy storage projects in Italy. The candidate must have experience in delivering major infrastructure projects throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. Support will be provided by the company's experienced commercial and operational teams in the UK.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager, skilled in legal, financial, technical, and asset management aspects, capable of overseeing greenfield site development, financial close, and operational success.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Scoping and Development: Collaborate with in-country partners to develop project scopes, assist in project design, permitting, and grid connection applications, and prepare, negotiate, and execute project documentation including supply, design, construction, and O&M agreements for bankable projects.
  • Tender Process Design and Management: Design and manage the tender process to secure optimal pricing and solutions from contractors and suppliers, ensuring a fair and efficient process, including supplier visits and query responses.
  • Financial Close: Ensure project documentation satisfies legal, insurance, and technical due diligence; secure debt and equity funding.
  • Construction Management: Oversee design and construction of multiple assets across Italy and Europe, coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders, manage contracts, review designs, and ensure quality, safety, and timeliness, with regular reporting to management.
Person Specification:
  • Strong academic background in technical and commercial fields, preferably with a degree in electrical or civil engineering.
  • Experience managing infrastructure projects through all lifecycle stages.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy projects such as Battery Storage, Solar PV, Wind, and Interconnection projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple cultures and time zones, willing to travel and build global relationships.
  • Self-managed, autonomous, decisive, resilient, and a clear communicator.
