Randstad is proud to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive school in Liverpool. This full-time, long-term position starts in September 2025 and is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about transforming the lives of young people through strong behavioural support and education.
About the RoleAs a Behaviour Support Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. You'll support students in developing positive behaviours, emotional regulation, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored, engaging lessons to students with behavioural needs
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs and EHCP targets
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to support student welfare
- Monitor and assess student development and behaviour improvement
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching students with behavioural or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Experience in UK schools
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to provide professional references from recent employers
Highly Desirable:
- Team Teach or other de-escalation/restraint training
- Experience working in PRUs, alternative provisions, or specialist SEMH settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and restorative behaviour practices
- Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Adaptable and solution-focused in challenging situations
- A strong communicator who can build trust with pupils and staff
- Passionate about inclusion and making a meaningful difference
