Behaviour Support Assistant - Secondary SEMH

This Sunderland-based secondary SEN school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and they do it properly. With a strong reputation and a supportive trust behind them, this is a setting where staff are valued and developed.

Role overview: You'll support students who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement. Your role is all about building relationships, providing consistency and helping pupils re engage with learning.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support
• Use de escalation and behaviour strategies
• Help pupils manage emotions and routines
• Support learning across different subjects
• Work closely with pastoral and teaching teams

Requirements:

• Experience with SEMH, behaviour or youth work is beneficial
• Resilient, patient and understanding nature
• Ability to stay calm and consistent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
