We're working with a specialist SEMH academy in the North East and are looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join their team on a long term basis. This is a full time, Monday to Friday role supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You'll be working in a classroom setting, providing both learning support and emotional and wellbeing support to young people who can present with challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities- General classroom support
- Supporting pupils' emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Building positive, trusting relationships
- Managing and de escalating challenging behaviours
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
- Calm, patient and resilient.
- Experience, or a strong interest, in SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- Passionate about making a difference.
- Can commit long term, Monday to Friday.
- Experience in education, care, youth work or similar settings is ideal, but the right attitude is key.
