Befriending and Activities Support Volunteer

St. Joseph's Care Home provides residential care and support for adults with an acquired brain injury, a neurological disorder and or a physical disability. The service is staffed 24 hours a day. A senior member of staff is on duty at all times. Residents are encouraged and supported to follow their own interests, including activities outside the home. Nugent are looking for volunteers to visit St. Joseph's Care Home to offer friendship and engage in activities based in the care home and local community.

Volunteers that might be interested in developing a regular timetable of activities which will run at the Care Home. Volunteers will help to set up new activities and support residents to engage and get the most out of in activities on offer. The activities may include arts and crafts, card making, sewing, playing board games, bingo, quizzes, arm chair exercises, card games, chess, coffee mornings, and any other ideas a volunteer may like to offer or even just simply coming into the service chatting/socialising with residents. This is a great opportunity to take part in fun and interesting activities, meet new people, and engage with people in the local community to help reduce loneliness.
