Tasks

Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in complex litigation cases, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to effectively support clients' positions in court.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and anticipate potential outcomes.
Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals to gather evidence and build strong cases for trial.
Present cases in court, articulating arguments clearly and persuasively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

Qualified barrister with minimum 5 years PQE (England & Wales)
Proven track record in criminal advocacy with substantial court experience
Demonstrable expertise in private prosecution work
Experience with fraud, regulatory offences, or serious crime
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
Strong analytical ability to absorb and synthesise complex factual and legal material
Knowledge of disclosure obligations and criminal procedure
Ability to provide strategic, commercially-minded advice to clients
Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to handle pressure, tight deadlines, and multiple matters simultaneously.

Desirable Experience

Former CPS Grade 4 prosecutor or Treasury Counsel experience
Experience with high-value financial crime, IP offences, or regulatory matters
Direct Access qualification
Experience in civil fraud or asset recovery
International or cross-border prosecution experience
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
