Tasks
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in complex litigation cases, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to effectively support clients' positions in court.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and anticipate potential outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals to gather evidence and build strong cases for trial.
  • Present cases in court, articulating arguments clearly and persuasively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified barrister with minimum 5 years PQE (England & Wales)
  • Proven track record in criminal advocacy with substantial court experience
  • Demonstrable expertise in private prosecution work
  • Experience with fraud, regulatory offences, or serious crime
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong analytical ability to absorb and synthesise complex factual and legal material
  • Knowledge of disclosure obligations and criminal procedure
  • Ability to provide strategic, commercially-minded advice to clients
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle pressure, tight deadlines, and multiple matters simultaneously.

Desirable Experience

  • Former CPS Grade 4 prosecutor or Treasury Counsel experience
  • Experience with high-value financial crime, IP offences, or regulatory matters
  • Direct Access qualification
  • Experience in civil fraud or asset recovery
  • International or cross-border prosecution experience
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
