Job Description
Overview

Barcroft Primary School is seeking a Catering Unit Supervisor to manage a team responsible for providing a prerequisite number of school meals. The role includes organising the kitchen, ordering food and provisions, and ensuring the overall quality of the service. The successful candidate will ensure the kitchen complies with relevant legislation, particularly food safety and health and safety. Job Title: Catering Unit Supervisor - Ref: EE08025
School: Barcroft Primary School, Barcroft, Willenhall, WV13 1NF
Hours per week: 32.30 hours
Times: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 2:00 pm (indicative; start and end times may vary to meet service needs). Term time only (38 weeks per year).

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team responsible for delivering school meals.
  • Organise the kitchen, including ordering of food and provisions.
  • Ensure high quality service and compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation.
  • Monitor and uphold standards and service delivery in the school catering environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Relevant experience in a school catering environment, menu development and staff supervision.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a catering area or equivalent, and the Essential Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to study toward it.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check may be required.
  • Ability to communicate in accurate spoken English in line with the Government's English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
