Job Description
Head of Risk - Mandarin Speaker, London

This permanent London role is for a senior Risk Manager who will lead the Branch Risk Management Department and support the CRO in delivering a strong risk culture.

Responsibilities
  • Implement a robust Risk Management Framework for the London Branch, ensuring systems and controls measure, manage and control risk.
  • Manage the Credit, Market and Operational Risk monitoring, reporting and control activities for the Branch.
  • Develop and deliver the Branch Risk Appetite, credit policy framework and approval processes.
  • Provide timely risk information to senior managers, the CRO and the HO through regular and ad hoc reporting.
  • Lead and manage the Risk Management Department, fostering a high performance risk culture.
  • Support the CRO in delivering the risk culture and framework within the Branch and chair the risk and credit committees.
  • Maintain effective communication with HO and related departments on all risk issues.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to meet the bank's business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree minimum; relevant professional qualification is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of senior Credit Risk or Lending experience in the financial services sector.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulatory landscape and best practices in risk management.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
